Hi there! I’m Katie and this is where I blog about my adventures in married life, homeownership, and the domestic realm. Welcome!
Me in a nutshell: I’m a lifelong resident of Virginia, writing enthusiast, lover of all things miniature, and proud mother to a schnoodle named Aleister. Yeah, those are pretty much the basics.
Here I am with aforementioned schnoodle, Aleister (or Allie, for short). He’s 50% schnauzer, 50% poodle, and 100% the cutest. He became my baby in 2005 and has since become the little prince we don’t mind spoiling.
In May 2010, after many adventures and six plus years of dating, I became the wife of my biggest crush and college sweetheart, Jamie. In short, it was our best day ever. You can read a brief history of how we came to be here and details about our wedding here.
After Jamie and I had tons of nerdy fun building our wedding website, I decided to press on by blogging about our married life and that’s when And I With You was born. Our first major undertaking: house hunting. Exactly one year from our wedding day, we closed on our very first home.
Since then I’ve been chronicling our various home improvement projects as we attempt to update our 1968 Colonial split foyer and make it feel more like home. Along the way, I’ll chat about other domestic affairs, including but not limited to: cooking + recipes, crafting + DIY, product finds + reviews, travels + adventures, and the like. Sound like fun?
